New 28mm Manchester Regiment Miniatures

When the Bonny Prince led his army into England. He was expecting the people to welcome him in the streets and free them from the Hanoverian Dynasty. This was not the case.

The Manchester Regiment was some of the few that did come out to support him and they formed a Regiment for the army. Under the command of Col Francis Townley most of them were recruited from the Lancashire area and were circa 250 men in strength. They accompanied the army to Derby and the retreat. They were garrisoned at Carlisle while the rest of the army went north as part of the retreat from Derby. After the surrender of Carlisle the leaders were tried as traitors and a substantial amount of the men executed for their part.

Although these figures have been labelled Manchester Regiment. They can easily be any Scottish or English militia regiment. They can also be used as Lowlanders. They have been made to be mixed with the new Lowlander figures.
